Theatrical Legacy - Brad

My partner in Stage Research and dear friend, Brad, has endured a lifelong battle with cancer. In remission for most of his life, the last couple years it has fought back with a vengeance. And soon, it will complete its mission.

Brad's intelligence, wit, friendship, and tenacity to do the impossible has had a profound effect on me. From first meeting him as a teenager, working together in technical theatre (lights & sound), to rock climbing, hiring his programming talent in various companies, to finally creating our own company together (going on 20+ years), he is a once in a lifetime partner.  He has changed my life for the better and likely did the same for many others, especially in the theatrical world.

Brad was the one who had most of the best ideas for a small program called SFX which revolutionized audio playback/show control using a Windows PC in the early 90s and still used today. A program I know he is incredibly proud of. Plus numerous other industry changing applications along the way.

I'm reaching out to our friends and family in the theatre world on Brads behalf.  Brad would have been perfectly fine saying goodbye in a quiet way. That's just who his is.  But he's not just leaving the theatre community, he's saying goodbye to his young daughter who is a bit too young to comprehend all Brad has done.

Please consider doing these two things for Brad, Stella (his daughter) and his family:

1) Write an email to [email redacted] sharing a story – whether from meeting him at a trade show or training event – or - how what he created impacted you – or – a positive message for his daughter.
