My name is Cezar Del Valle, I am a theatre historian based in New York City.
The Cinema Theatre Association (CTA) have asked me to speak at their monthly meeting in London. March 28th, 2020. This is my first overseas talk. It will add to my reputation as a theatre historian.
The honorarium will just about cover a budget round-trip flight. The CTA will provide a few days accommodations.
I would like to extend my stay. conducting research and visiting historic theatres. Ken Roe, founding member of the CTA, has graciously offered a tour of London theatres. Research in the CTA archives is another option.
Visits to cities outside of London are also under consideration. The Brighton Hippodrome is number nine on the Theatres Trust's list of Theatres at Risk.
Ken Roe has offered a tour of Blackpool should time and money permit.
Research will be used for future talks, essays, articles, etc. The theatres visited recorded and shared on social media.
Funds collected will go directly to travel within the UK, accommodations, food and everyday expenses.
Anyone contributing $25 or more will receive a theatre postcard from England.
I deeply appreciate any contribution, no matter how small. Your help will extend my stay in the UK, conducting research and developing future projects.
Hopefully my efforts will also contribute to the preservation of theatre sites currently at risk.
