"Years ago there were witches in this town. Witches who cast spells. Scary Spells. Evil Spells. Spells that would make people sick. The towns people vowed to find out who the witches were and kill them. So the witches hid here, in this house. One night the youngest of the witches got caught walking alone towards town. Probably to find a victim. The towns people followed her back here and set the house on fire. Any surviving witches were hung on the tree out back. Except the youngest, Claire. They never found her. They say she still lurks in the dark end of the hall, waiting for her next victim." - Bridget (age 9, Remsen Home Resident)

Premise: When Emilie, a recently orphaned child, suffering from grief and PTSD, arrives at Remsen Home for Troubled Girls, she is met with little understanding and constant torment from her peers. As her need for connection grows she wanders farther and farther into “safety”, the depths of her psyche, the dark end of the hall, where witches and evil are said to live. But how far down the hall can she go until there is no return and she is lost in the dark forever?

What the film's about: The film combines the lore of Brooklyn Witch Trials with the dark end of the Human Psyche. The Dark End of The Hall is a metaphorical look at how depression, numbness, drug addiction etc (the dark end of our mind) can seem safer than facing your reality and how it all can begin in childhood.

Its future: This short film will be used as a sample for a Feature Film, of the same title, that further dives into this topic and the lore created in the story. This film will be submitted to festivals. Our goal is to help further the careers of all those involved and prep for a larger feature production.
