The Zinkle family recover from house fire

update: I wanted to update the page and say thank you to everyone who has donated or even shared our story. We wanted to update about a month after our fire that we still have only received $259 from insurance and have not heard back from them in a week of trying to contact them. Our car is once again in the shop for repairs and we owe the removal company who cleaned out our house ASAP and that is supposed to come out of our personal property payout but we have yet to even get that. We also had to stay in a hotel for a week which we paid out of pocket for close $2k as well as paying first and last months rent as well as a month ahead so we could get caught up (about $4k). With Chris out of work until we get after school care coverage for Patton we are struggling and need any help we can still get since USAA is not being responsive. Any help is appreciated whether is be monetary or just sharing our story. We are trying to get back on our feet and keep our kids’ lives as normal as possible so anything helps.

Hi I am Elizabeth we are a family of 5. In the early morning of September 7 a fire broke out in the attic of our home. Thankfully all 5 of us were able to get out of the home safely however we are now without a home to stay in. On top of this we are also waiting to hear about repairs for our car so we are now down to one car. We will need to pay for the repairs on the car and a new place to live as well as new clothes for our children as well as ourselves. We are also going to need to be able to pay for a hotel for the time being for us to stay in.
