The Young Family Educational Trust
As many of you know, Kathy Young, (OMHS, Class of 1980) and eldest daughter of Earl and Ruth Young passed away unexpectedly. Her daughter, Karmen, who graduated with a 4.0 GPA this Spring has been admitted to the University of Manchester in Great Britain.
This Go Fund Me request is somewhat different than others you may receive, in that we do not often have the opportunity to sow into the legacy of our dearly departed elders who sowed into us in the not so distant past. Earl and Ruth Young meant so much to so many of us and played a role in the shaping of our lives, and we have an opportunity to honor them and assist their granddaughter fulfill her dreams of studying Linguistics abroad.
Mrs. Young smiled and hugged us through OMHS, she was our beloved Librarian, coached our cheerleaders, and was mother to our dear friends Kevin (OMHS, Class of 1977), Kathy, and Kelly (OMHS, Class of 1988). Mr. Young served as a coach, substitute and a role model to us all. Kevin played baseball for the Scorps and Kelly and Kathy cheered the Scorps on through every season.
Most of all, they opened their hearts and home to many of us. Karmen is their legacy which we can honor through our giving.
