The Young Fabians need your help
The Young Fabians are the youth section of Britain’s oldest think tank. For over 60 years, the Young Fabians has helped shape thought on the left, and this year is no exception. But that mission faces a funding challenge, so we need your help to make these projects come to life
Over the last year, we have gone from strength to strength, with our team of volunteers putting on a diverse programme of over 150 speakers, hosting panel discussions on the issues facing Britain today, and preparing nine policy pamphlets – more than ever before. Our blog has drawn thousands of readers to the latest work of young progressive thought leaders. We are truly a member led, energetic group of thinkers and the future leaders of the left.
We still plan to release these pamphlets, on topics from artificial intelligence to metro mayors; from access to politics to holding corporations to account. We are also developing a full slew of virtual Conference fringe events, bringing together young people, MPs and academics to take the energy of the conference fringe into our members’ homes.
All this work costs money, from pamphlet design and printing to event organising, so these ideas can be put in front of the people who matter. With a funding gap of £3,000 for our year, this is something we currently cannot afford, and will mean not giving the support we should be giving to our brilliant members.
Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic has seriously derailed our traditional fundraising efforts. Key in-person events, which provide the bulk of our funding, have had to be cancelled. We need your support if we are to make our exciting programme of pamphlets and events a reality.
Every pound you give will go towards policy development, core costs, and supporting the next generation of leaders on the left.
