The Year Without a Summer: A Staged Reading
Donation protected
The Year Without a Summer by Greer DuBois, previously featured online for the 2020 Wisconsin Wrights Festival at Forward Theatre and the Milwaukee Chamber Theater, will soon be presented *in person* for the first time, in a workshop reading directed by Ned Baker. We need your help to get it on its feet in August!
The play itself is the tale of a band of European misfits (one of whom bears a striking and wacky resemblance to Stendhal) hiding and colliding in an Alpine villa during the eponymous summer-less summer of 1816, with salonnière Matilda Dembowski presiding over the mischief.
Your funds will help us:
-pay our actors and director
-print and distribute scripts
-provide COVID tests
Any excess funds raised will be evenly distributed among the members of our creative team.
Our final product will be a free reading in Evanston, Illinois on the evenings of Saturday, August 20th and Sunday, August 21st. All are invited to join us!
With our thanks,
