The Xhabu Recovery Appeal
Xhabu underwent life-saving surgery on Wednesday after showing concerning symptoms. His carers noticed he was off-colour in the morning and began vomiting, prompting them to contact the vet. Despite close monitoring, his discomfort grew, leading to an urgent vet visit.
During surgery, a blockage was discovered that required immediate removal to prevent life-threatening complications. The next 24 hours were critical, but Xhabu pulled through, receiving dedicated care from his carers throughout the night. Although it was a close call, Xhabu is now on the road to recovery.
We’re hopeful this won’t affect his recovery from the stroke he suffered in 2023, and we’ll continue to closely monitor his progress and keep you all updated.
As a charity, we rely heavily on donations, including admission tickets. With our closing date of November 3rd approaching and the toughest time of year ahead, we’re launching the Xhabu Recovery Appeal to help cover vet bills and ongoing care costs. Every donation makes a huge difference, and we are incredibly grateful for any support you can give.
A huge thank you to our amazing team, vets, and all of you—our supporters—for your continued care and generosity. ❤️
