The WWKD Scholarship Foundation
Donation protected
It has been on many hearts to do something to help keep Katharine's memory and legacy alive. But then, she's always been with us since she left nearly five years ago. Today, Kath would have turned 25 and we saw it fitting to launch the WWKD Scholarship Foundation. When Kath passed away, one thing I said over and over to my daughter, Maddie, was What Would Katharine Do? Because, yes, her passing was sudden and heartbreaking, and we needed to figure out how to move forward. If she were here, she'd help us. So, that's where WWKD came from.
We are working on making this scholarship foundation an official 501c3; we have met with a tax professional and an attorney. Once the attorney has incorporated the bylaws and articles and we've received our EIN number, we will begin official fundraising. In the meantime, we are setting up a Go Fund Me to get the ball rolling and students can begin applying for the $1500 scholarships.
If you knew Katharine for even a brief moment, you knew how full of life and love she was. And that she would have had all kinds of ideas for how to make this scholarship successful. We only hope we can honor her as fully as she lived in her short 20 years. She deserves it so much.
