The Worst Thing is Never the Last Thing
Donation protected
On October 18, 2020, my mom, Sherry Schnee, was hit head-on by a driver who was under the influence. She sustained catastrophic injuries to multiple organs as well as a spinal cord injury that has left her unable to move her arms & legs, also known as quadriplegia.
She spent weeks in the ICU after multiple surgeries. Currently, she is in a hospital that specializes in weaning patients off ventilators. She has a tracheostomy & is vent dependent. Once she can breathe independently, she will go to inpatient rehab.
The road ahead is an unknown & scary one. My mom realizes that she may never walk again. This is truly devastating to her due to her love of yoga, bike riding, & hiking. The idea of having a service dog makes her eyes light up & gives her hope. Us too. Because she is a quadriplegic, a wheelchair, van, 24/7 home health care to help with activities of daily living, & revamping the home to make it handicap friendly are necessities. Any donation is more than enough & very appreciated.
My mom is a strong woman of faith. Her favorite saying is one of our pastor’s, “the worst thing is never the last thing.” My mom is the kindest, strongest, & most genuine person I have ever met. In the midst of this trauma, she looks up at us & makes it known how much she loves us. She is my hero.
Thank you & God Bless.
With Love,
(David) Mark, David & Erica Schnee
