Hello, I'm James and I'm creating a children's fantasy animation project called 'The World of Lightness.' The story centres on the initial corruption of the duergar- hence their infamous malicious nature- and subsequent redemption through the power of music, helped by local children.

I’ve written the full script, and I’m thrilled to be working with a talented team of animation students from Newcastle College to bring it to life into a full, animated movie.

The first step is creating storyboards, animatics, and eventually full animation ready for screening. While the students are generously volunteering their time (this is extra-curricular for them), there are still essential costs that need covering, such as:

Professional sound recording and editing.

Local screenings and potential festival submissions.

Remuneration for the animators.

Every contribution brings us closer to creating something special: a magical adventure for children that celebrates imagination, storytelling, and Northumberland’s folklore.
