The Woodard’s COVID-19 Hospital Relief Fund

This past March, husband and wife William and Julie Woodard tested positive for COVID-19 and were brought to the Sentara CarePlex Hospital in critical condition. The pair had to be placed on heavy oxygen to support their lungs from the effects of COVID-related pneumonia and were watched attentively under the hospital’s careful observation for a period of several weeks.
After a long stretch in critical care, William Woodard’s condition stabilized and he was able to return home. Julie Woodard was moved into the ICU, where after a long fight and many days in the hospital, she passed away.
How You Can Help
This hospital stay and Julie’s sudden passing were completely unprecedented and has left William, and the whole Woodard’s family, emotionally and financially reeling. Our goal is to raise $30,000 for their combined hospital bills and fees associated with Julie’s passing.
With this goal met, we hope to be able to ease William’s recovery and help relieve some of the tension created in these past weeks.

The Woodards are a kind and caring family who are dedicated members of the Coastal Virginia community. William Woodard works at Portfolio Recovery Associates in Norfolk where he helps lead their bankruptcy department and manages several work teams.
Julie Woodard, who was an incredibly strong woman and mentor to others, was the Founder of Woodard & Associates, LLC—an HR firm dedicated to providing businesses with quality human resources assistance.
This family has been a driving force of positive light in many people’s lives. Though Julie has passed, she will remain in the countless hearts of her loved ones and friends for all the work she did each day to make the world a better place.

The Woodard’s COVID-19 Hospital Relief Fund
What Happened
Nothing could have prepared husband and wife William and Julie Woodard for what would hit them this March. Like countless others this past year, the pair tested positive for COVID-19 and were brought to the hospital in critical condition. Both long-term residents of Coastal Virginia are currently residing in the Sentara CarePlex Hospital located in Hampton, VA where they are on heavy oxygen to support their lungs and breathing from the effects of COVID-related pneumonia. Julie Woodard was moved into the ICU and placed on a ventilator, while her husband William was brought into critical care. They are expected to be hospitalized for a minimum of two to three weeks until their conditions stabilize and are considered safe to return home.

In their free time, they can often be found enjoying boating, swimming, and grilling at home with family and friends.
