Hi, my name is Christopher Jenke, and I’m writing this with a heavy heart about the most important woman in my life — my mother, Mary A. Jenke Salinas, or as so many people lovingly call her, Mama Mary.
If you grew up around her, you already know: my mom hasn’t just been a mother to me — she’s been a mother to dozens of kids over the years. The door to our home was never closed. The stove was always on. There was always a place at her table and love in her heart.
She’s fed hungry children when their own homes were empty. She’s listened when no one else would. She’s guided kids down the right path when the world tried to pull them off it. And she’s been the safe, warm, unshakable foundation for so many souls — including mine.
But now, Mama Mary needs us.
She’s facing a devastating reality: without corrective eye surgery, she could lose her sight. The woman who’s spent her life helping so many of us see — the path, the light, the love — is now losing her own vision. The cost of the surgery is nearly $10,000, and without it, her world could go dark.

Why I’m Asking for Your Help
My mother has given everything she has to others without ever asking for anything in return. This time, she needs our help. This isn’t just about saving her sight — it’s about preserving the woman who’s been the heart and soul of our community.
I want my mom to see the faces of the kids she raised — now adults with families of their own. I want her to see the smiles of the grandchildren who adore her. And I want her to see the world she’s made better with every act of kindness she’s given.

How You Can Help
Every donation — no matter how small — will go directly to covering her surgery and recovery. Even sharing this campaign makes a difference. Together, we can give Mama Mary the gift of sight and show her the same love she’s shown so many of us.
❤️ Please donate if you can.
❤️ Please share this with others.
❤️ Please help my mother continue to see the world she’s made brighter.
From the bottom of my heart — thank you.
