The Wolfe’s Life back #campfire

Our parents, Terrie and Ken Wolfe have lost their home in this horrible Camp Fire. Along with many others in the town of Paradise, Ca. They were evacuated from their home with very little notice.
For our parents this was not only their home, but their whole livelihood.
On Thursday morning when they got notice that they needed to evacuate immediately, they were really pressed for time, you see our Mom is the owner of a family childcare called Animal Crackers Daycare. She had already begun her day early and had children in her care. She contacted the families and had to wait for the parents to reunite with their children before they could get ready to leave. They had just enough time to grab a set of clothes, some important paperwork, their medications, and their dog, Chili. When driving out of town, they drove through flames and were frightened and distraught about all the buildings and houses being burned. They were stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for 2 hours before making it to safety in the next town.
I could only imagine what was going on in their minds....
They were leaving behind so much.
And sadly, though they made it out safe, their home burned to the ground.
Somethings will never be able to be replaced. Photos, grandchildrens art and gifts, and keepsakes from Ken’s late parents.
Their “Home” is gone.
They were in the process of remodeling and hadn’t even installed the kitchen appliances yet. They have been working on building up their home for quite some time. Ken has been working tirelessly on the yard and remodel of the flooring, bathrooms and kitchen for many months. It was in the last stages of being completed.
“ I was just talking to Mom a week ago about the chance of her being able to host a wonderful Christmas gathering....” Cheryl
This was Papa Ken and Mima’s house. It always smelled of salty beach fragrance and had warm cozy blankets, and extra socks to wear when it got cold, and always full of yummy home cooked meals and baked goodness. Now all we have are memories.
Their income came from their Home Daycare. So not only is their home gone, so is their livelihood. I can’t imagine being homeless and jobless in one day.
Both of them are trying to be strong and don’t want to ask for help but they really do need it. So We aresetting up this fund to help them get back on their feet. They are going to have a long road ahead of them to rebuild some of what they lost. Please help with whatever you can. They will be ever grateful. And when they are able to rebuild and have Papa Ken and Mima’s home once again. So will all of us siblings and their 20 grandchildren!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Ken, Mike, Mathew, Teanna, Cheryl, Crystal, and Michelle
