In 2022, I lost my only son to an accidental opioid overdose.

He died alone in a hotel room.

No one there to hold his hand.

No one to remind him that his life still mattered.

No one to tell him, “You are loved. Please stay.”

That pain shattered my world.

And as if that wasn’t enough, my only surviving child is now battling addiction too.

This is why I created Unspoken Scars—to break the silence and create a safe space where people struggling with addiction can find hope, support, and healing.

I started this GoFundMe because I cannot sit back and watch other families go through the same nightmare I did.

I am on a mission to:

Provide safe, supportive housing for individuals in recovery

Offer mental health and trauma support services

Create educational programs on addiction awareness and prevention

Support families grieving the loss of loved ones to addiction

Offer resources, coaching, and a community where no one has to feel alone

The Crisis Is Real—And It’s Growing

Every day, we lose over 220 people in the U.S. to opioid overdoses.

That’s more than 81,000 lives each year—mothers, fathers, sons, daughters—gone.

My son was one of them.

I refuse to let his story end in silence.

This fund is my way of turning pain into purpose—to honor my son’s memory, to fight for my surviving child, and to help others find their way out of the darkness.
