The Wilkins family lost everything in a house fire

Hello friends, family, and all other visitors,

This is Abby Wilkins writing on behalf of my family back in Minnesota. Thank you to Stacy Burns for her kindness and willingness to organize this GoFundMe. The goal of this campaign is to help cover the cost of replacing cars and rebuilding, after learning we were underinsured on both fronts.

As some of you may know, last Mother's Day our family home burned to the ground. Although it is unknown what started the fire, it caught so quickly that my brother Matt, parents Cathy and Tom, and our dog Tori had to leave everything behind to run out. The fire was so hot that the marsh down our driveway and across the street caught fire. It was declared a total loss.

Everything we owned was in this home. Everything happened in it. Our home was the gathering space of friends and extended family ever since Matt and I were kids. Winters I remember Matt and I pinballing between trees sledding in our backyard, Summers when my dad perfected making pizza on our outdoor grill.

What we miss the most are the mementos and irreplacables, what were and could have been family heirlooms, and alleviating some of the big financial losses would help my family to grieve the loss remembrances of life and love. My parents have already been so touched by friends, family, and strangers that have offered help, and we hope that this campaign can give those who would like to a means to do so.
