The Wilby Whack for the Waterloo Food Bank
On June 6, 2020 I completed a rather whacky ride, involving 6 full laps of Wilby Road near Waterloo: 142 km, 1380m of climbing, 5 hrs, 11 min.
I thought it would be a great idea to repeat this ride with a few friends, and raise money for the Waterloo Region food bank in the process. With Ontario's unemployment rate around 9% and grocery prices going through the roof, there are a lot of families needing help putting food on the table.
Due to a detour involving Wilby Rd, this year's Wilby Whack will take place on Carmel Koch Rd, just a stone's throw from Wilby Rd. It has a similar amount of climbing but far less traffic. The Route (22 km round trip)
My goal is at least 8 laps on the bike and $2500 in donations. This campaign is set up to send donations directly to the Food Bank. If you're so inclined, please consider tossing a few bucks towards a worthy cause.
