The Whitney Family Needs Your Help
Donation protected
This is the hardest thing I have ever had to write, because asking for help is not something my family does. For better or worse, we just don't. We handle things on our own. Unfortunately, the universe has thrown us more than we can handle on our own, and we have to ask for help.
My brother, George, was diagnosed with stage four brain cancer last week, at the age of 53. This, alone, is devastating and scary as hell, but it comes during our other family crisis, which is our mom's steady decline from Alzheimer's.
George and his wife and two of their children live with our mom and take care of her. We have been trying to keep her in her home, where she is happy, versus putting her into a nursing home. She does not know exactly who we are at this point, but she is happy. Thankfully, she does not understand that her son is very sick. One good thing about Alzheimer's, I suppose.
George and his wife can no longer work, because he could have seizures at any time, and someone has to be with him around the clock. The expenses for his care and treatment are going to start piling up, and we need to get people in to care for our mom daily now or do the hardest possible thing and put her in a nursing home.
Any funds raised will be used to care for my mom and my brother the best way we possibly can.
Thank you.
