The show is 30 to 40 minutes long every month covering topics with 5 to 7 segments in every show on you tube and at Model Railroad Hobbyist Magazine. I also produce a weekly video podcast called What's Neat This Week, Working with friends that give their time to make the production go together.
When you figure the costs of production along with the loans to have the video equipment we work with, the end result is the show costs more to produce than it brings in. I am looking to have a travel budget to show modelers work accross the country with interviews and layout storys and cover train shows and visit manufacturers in their place of business.
We simply want to cover the costs of the show and improve the show to make it the Very Best Model Railroad News and information along with education to each and every modeler.
This go fund me goal will make it work for the next 12 months and then figure how to go after that with regards to income to produce future years of shows.
Public tv works this way so it seems like the right way to make this work for the What's Neat Show.
