On Saturday Jan. 2, 2021 Mike went to the ER with leg pain, was sent home that day with pain meds & told it would be better in a week. On Wednesday Jan. 6th he was rushed to the hospital in excruciating pain, he was then admitted to the ICU & kept over the weekend to run tests. The results of the test showed bacteria in the blood which ended up being MRSA. Doctors tried to battle the infection with antibiotics but were unsuccessful. On Tuesday Jan. 12th he was rushed to emergency surgery to attempt clearing out the infection before it cost him his life. The infection was so terrible and spreading quickly doctors were forced to amputate his leg from above the knee and down. This was devastating because if you know Mike he is a nonstop worker and provider for his family. He was 1 year away from retirement and now his life has changed forever. It is going to be a long and tough road ahead while he is adapting to his new way of life and stressful with bills and medical expenses adding up every day. Mike is a very proud man & would be devastated knowing things have come to this. He hates to ask for help even though he is always willing to help anyone who needs it. We created this page without him knowing, in hopes of surprising him to relieve some of the financial burden of house/everyday bills and medical expenses while he is recovering.
We know we set this goal kind of high and we don’t expect to reach it but any donation will help a great deal. We greatly appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts!
