The Wattie Family

If you know the Watties, you know they are a family full of love. In April of this year, their lives were forever changed when Joey (Joe) was diagnosed with glioblastoma. He is 45 years old. It has been a difficult and hard fought six month battle with many ups and downs along the way. Unfortunately, the treatments are now doing more harm than good and he has been transitioned into hospice care at home.
We know that God is our ultimate healer and He has shown Himself faithful from the very beginning of this journey. If you know Breeze, you know she loves Jesus and He is her rock. As Breeze’s best friend, I have been a witness to the good, the bad and the ugly during these last few months. Amidst the devastating struggles, I have seen many miracles, the most notable being Joey’s faith and relationship with the Lord blossoming rapidly. I have also witnessed (and am still in awe of) how family and friends have rallied around this family to provide meals, transportation, spiritual support, chores, run errands, home care and more.
Joey and Breeze have six children and one (adorable) granddaughter. Joey also has very close relationships with his parents and siblings (his sister is his best friend).
Breeze has not worked since the diagnosis in order to stay home and care for Joey. Needless to say, going from two incomes to zero is taking a toll. They have applied for assistance where they can and Joey’s parents (Joe and Gerri) have been a great support. Several people have reached out to Breeze asking about a GoFundMe in order to ease the burden. Money donated here will be used for multiple purposes: mortgage, bills, food, medical expenses, activities, memories, and anything and everything that brings life and light into their home during this unimaginable time.
Breeze also has Venmo (if you prefer that instead): @Breeze-Wattie
Let’s do what we can so they can focus on making the most of their time left together!
