Hi, my name is Gilian, and I'm raising funds for Breast Cancer Research.
The Warrior, Gillian Nelson began the fight following her breast cancer diagnosis in March 2025, and her Support Squad were there straight away to support her.
For Gillian, her diagnosis came following a routine Mammogram and like many women, her world was turned upside down.
Gillian, having worked in the NHS for 40 years, understands the importance of raising money to help men and women receive the best care possible following their diagnosis, and also the need for cancer research. Without this research, we would not have the groundbreaking treatments we have today and those needed for the future.
So Gillian and her Support Squad of Digby, Amanda, and Lynn are going forward with warrior cries to raise much-needed funds for Breast Cancer Research.
To support the Warrior Squad's efforts, our Hartlepool Big-Band Musicians Unlimited are joining us to help raise funds for this important cause. Gillian has played the saxophone for 50 years, and 37 of these have been as a founder member with MU, and she has been involved in many fundraisers playing at venues far and wide.
Our brave Gillian is also a hero to the Blood Donor Service, having given 103 donations since the age of 18 to her diagnosis.
Thank you for reading this page. We understand that everybody is watching the pennies in the present economic climate, and please be assured that every amount raised or given, big or small, will be very gratefully received and used towards funding Breast Cancer Research.
