(message from Ryan’s wife)
On 4/20/2024 Ryan was playing football with his favorite football team when he caught an interception and took off for a touch down. After numerous yards a running back from the other team tackled him. When Ryan came down he heard a loud pop in his knee and severe pain. He left the game and headed for the Emergency Room. X-rays didn’t show anything and an MRI was needed. MRI was done 4/24/2024 and resulted in 7 completely torn ligaments and 3 partially torn ligaments with other damage to the knee. Surgery is in his near future and 6-12 months recovery time. Ryan and his family just bought their house a few months ago after working hard for 9 years on their credit for the big purchase. His wife works hard as a truck driver as Ryan was also. He was the main provider for the family. Any and all donations provided will be going towards medical bills and house hold expenses until Ryan can get back up on his feet and work again. We truly thank you and appreciate everything!
*** updates: **Update on Ryan's situation 10/9/24**
We want to take a moment to update you on Ryan's journey and the challenges he and his family have faced since the last post.
One month after his injury, despite diligently following his doctor's orders, Ryan was diagnosed with a blood clot in his left leg. This painful condition led to a three-day hospital stay, where he was placed on pain medication and heavy blood thinners. The blood clot halted his scheduled surgery, as operating while he had it posed serious risks, including the potential for a pulmonary embolism.
After three months of treatment, Ryan was finally cleared of the blood clot and able to schedule his surgery for December 16. He returned to work in a limited capacity during this time, but once he resumed full-time, he had to take on a second part-time job to help make ends meet. Unfortunately, Ryan and his family have fallen behind on their mortgage payments and are now at risk of foreclosure.
His wife is working over 40 hours a week, and Ryan is putting in 80+ hours every week, including seven days of work. The mortgage company has granted them an extension until December to catch up, but if they cannot, they face the very real possibility of losing their home.
Ryan is deeply concerned about the time he will need off work for recovery post-surgery, as that could be catastrophic for his family.
Any donations received will go directly towards catching up on their past due mortgage payments and helping them secure their home. Your support means the world to Ryan and his family during this incredibly challenging time. Every little bit helps.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
