The Wake Up Call

We are the filmmakers who brought the critically acclaimed disability rights documentary Lives Worth Living to life against all the odds (with 2 broadcast dates on PBS!), and we've been at it again!  We have worked tirelessly for the last 4 years, traveling to such disparate places as West Virginia, Guatemala and Amman, Jordan to capture the footage that would allow us to tell this extraordinary story.  Collectively we have many, many years of experience in filmmaking and know that we certainly have the skill and the stamina to work through these final post-production phases.

The Wake Up Call follows the endeavors of renowned prosthetist Dave Evans, who has worked tirelessly for decades in post conflict zones around the world trying to mitigate the unavoidable human collateral damage in the aftermath of war.

Dave Evans is an electrifying character who lost both of his legs in a firefight in Vietnam.  His story since that fateful day provides the framework within which fellow anti-war veterans eloquently address many issues related to war and the lessons we never seem to learn from senseless combat.  Together they provide a lens through which indelible images emerge, all to evoke the underlying humanity that rises in response to the horrors of war.

The passionate words, wisdom, and stark images within The Wake Up Call evoke the memories that bedevil all of these characters, the awakening that changed them forever, and the realities of war few people can know beforehand.
