Hi everyone!

This is Mrs. Fortson, the director of the Veterans Memorial Middle School Choir. I am making this post today because we desperately need help from our community!

Our choir has been asked to perform in Orlando, Florida at Universal Studios in March. They will sing in a workshop with real producers and provide the soundtrack to a movie. This is an INCREDIBLE opportunity. My number one priority is making this trip affordable and accessible for all of my students. We are charging students for the tickets and their hotel, keeping it possible for most families!

Our plan was to use our school district transportation to get there since it is an affordable option and we could fundraise for it without asking that of our families. We were unable to secure a district bus due to travel limitations and driver shortages. This flipped our plan on its head! We now need to look into the option of charter busses and that is SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than MCSD transportation. We do not want to ask any more of the families and possibly exclude students due to finances.

We are asking for your help, community. Please help us get to Orlando! These students more than deserve it and this is a once-in-a-lifetime trip for many students. This is the last piece of the puzzle for this trip. Please consider donating to our choir for this trip!
