Who are we?

We're a team of talented artists who are preparing to feature a story that has never been told about the city of Pittsburgh before. We plan to start filming in November 2023.

This campaign exists because we need your help to produce this work and to take it to festivals around the world.

Nashwan worked in news channels covering war zones in Syria. Derek filmed/edited high-budget sports videos and commercials all over the US. Our A.D. has a degree in filming from Germany. Our music composer is a seasoned musicologist who's based in Berlin.

That's where you join our journey. Making a feature film that has valuable equipment and about 20 person crew isn't cheap, and to make this happen by the end of the year we need your help. By being on this page you are already contributing to this work. So, we thank you!

Where does your money go?

Your donation will directly cover production costs, like lighting, grip, makeup, set design, sound, venue rental, equipment rental, food, and of course our artists. You will be making a huge impact by supporting the art scene in all of western PA.

Did we contribute to our project?

Yes!!! We believe in our film therefore, we are investing our money in it.

We bought a professional Cinema Camera with a decent starting lens. Trust us it wasn't cheap!

Also, we have new and up-to-date editing tools. All these tools come with high prices and are very helpful for the process.

Budget estimates are below.

Cast - $9,000

Paying our artists is a top priority. These are the actors you'll see on screen, they will be working very hard to make this movie. They deserve to get paid fairly so they can focus on the story.

Grip- $12,000

This will pay the hard-working people who are carrying the heavy load behind the scene. Without them, we can't mount tools, build a setup, or even move equipment.

Light- $13,000

The head electrician and their assistants are the most important people on set. Why? Because they are responsible for the look of each scene. No good light, no good movie.

C.O& A.C- $15,000

The camera operator and assistant camera are in charge of taking the shots. Think of all those crazy shots, like hanging from a moving car, or being on a 12 ft crane.

D.P - $9,000

We have a professional director of photography. He will be in charge of all camera operations including camera movement, lenses, and light.

A.D - $2,500

The first assistant director will be making sure everything is going as it should be and on schedule. They are the beat of this project.

Permits& rights- $5000

We are doing everything the legal way. So we need filming permits, and some rights for music and names. None of us would like to get sued.

Rentals- $10,000

Includes props, grip, and lights.

Sound engineer& boom operator- $6000.

Special Make up- $500.

Production Assistant- $2000.

Editing& color grading - TBD

Why is this film so important?

It's a story about diversity, love, friendship, fighting for survival, and above all it's a story about America. We're proud and excited to bring our different cultural backgrounds together on screen for you. Together we will present a case that touches many hearts and is based on the stories of people who live among us.
