"The Victoria Kruger Show!" Short Film

Hi! My name is Alec Klusza and I’m Emily Cerutti, and we are the creators behind the upcoming horror short film “The Victoria Kruger Show!”. A satirical film exploring violent and hateful political propaganda.

I’m sure you are wondering: Who is Victoria Kruger? Well, here is the story:

“The Victoria Kruger Show!” follows Victoria Kruger as she walks out on the set of a late-night talk show with no memory of who she is. Blinded by bright studio lights and prompting queue cards, she delivers a talk show monologue, hinting at a recent violent fascist coup and the silencing of political opponents. Victoria is a scared prisoner forced to become the perfect talk show host and be used as a political pawn by an authoritarian government.

She is egged on by her mysterious sidekick Joran, who convinces her she is a celebrated talk show host.

Victoria interviews her first guest, George, a uniformed military officer, and then introduces her second guest, John, who she learns is her husband.

He is on the show promoting his new book on meaninglessness and goes on to ridicule Victoria.

Finally, a political prisoner, Jean, is brought on stage tied to a chair, as the closing performance of the show. Jean challenges Victoria about her choices and sense of control, leading to an introspective moment for the host where she almost realizes she has free will. But just before that moment, Joran murders Jean with the signature talk show prop, a toy ambulance.

"The Victoria Kruger Show!" spotlights how propaganda manipulates and brainwashes us as viewers to believe what the creators of this media want us to believe, often without our awareness.
