Victor Rask, age 44, left us after a two month battle with Leukemia. He was diagnosed on October 28, 2016 with Acute Mylenoid Leukemia, an aggresive and fast moving bone marrow cancer. He died surrounded by family, friends and an overwhelming network of online connection on January 1, 2017 at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen, Denmark. Victor was a citzen of the world; although born in Sweden, he considered the planet his home, his playground. He was a fierce defender of Mother Earth, as witnessed by his 12 years of devoted and heartfelt environmental activism as a Greenpeace volunteer and coordinator. It was here Victor learned his skill of industrial climbing, which led to his eventual employment in the rope access field, where he climbed, inspected and repaired wind turbines. He finally found his dream job in 2013 with Alpha Offshore but disease took him fast, too fast for those of us left behind. Victor's heart was huge and he simply bedazzled all those who he met with his unyielding humor, kindness, positivity and generosity.
Many of Victor's friends from all over the world have reached out and asked how they could contribute towards Victor and his family and help to continue to support the many NGO's Victor promoted. This fund has been established in order to facilitate those who would like to make a contribution to honor Victor's memory and help support Teresa during this untimely and sad transition.
