The Victor Gouveia Foundation
Donation protected
Victor was a lifelong community member and loved his job at city auto body, where he worked for 21 years. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and trucks, and spending time with his family and many friends. He loved riding his Harley Davidson and had a collection of Honda ATC 70 three-wheelers that he enjoyed building and restoring. Victor was very passionate about working on restoring whatever project he could get his hands on. He was always the first one to help someone out and was very loved by all his friends and family. Victor was most passionate about working on motorcycles, vehicles and many other off-road ATVs.
It is with great pride that his brother, Marco, has been able to establish his scholarship foundation in Victor‘s memory. The Victor Gouveia Foundation is a scholarship that has been set up for the funds to go directly to the Grand Haven Community Foundation. They have created a designated fund for the Careerline Tech Center . This designated fund is a scholarship opportunity for a current student with a preference being an auto body and a secondary preference for auto mechanic program. The student could use the scholarship award to help pay for tools, safety equipment or even the iCar Certification Test.
Victor had a Huge heart and was known for helping others however he could. He would be so proud to be able to help youths in our community to fulfill their dreams and enter the traded’s programs. Every year around the poker run time, a drop down he will be available on the Grand Haven Community Foundation homepage and donations can be made directly to the “Victor Gouveia Foundation”. Our goal is to be able to bring the community together and raise 25k in donations to fully fund the start of this foundation. The goal is to award a student(s) $1,000 a year.
This is where you, has family, friends, loved ones and community members can help us keep Victor‘s memory alive, by donating to this foundation. We need 5000 to establish the fund, and then everything after that, everyone will be able to donate directly to the community foundation and get a tax write off donation. This donation that you make is going to directly benefit the youth of our community and help to promote and encourage young adults who want to pursue the trade’s programs. This donation will allow Victor to continue to make a difference and make an imprint on others.
Whether you do it in Victor’s name and memory, or you do it because you believe in the trade’s program’s or even simply because you believe in the good in our community and want to support young adults in our community. We appreciate you taking the time to consider donating and helping us reach our goal so financial barriers will not prevent a student from continuing in the trades.
On behalf of Victor’s family, thank you all so very much, for the love and support.
