This is a fundraiser for my sister Caitlin, her husband Josh, and their two baby boys Ford (2 yo) and Tripp (1 week old). A severe case of Covid has dropped like a bomb on this beautiful little family, in the worst possible moment… just as Caitlin was admitted to the hospital to give birth to baby Tripp. As of this writing, Caitlin, Josh and Tripp are all in the ICU at the hospital. Caitlin and Tripp have both been in the hospital for a week, and Josh a few days now.
Caitlin and Josh are both battling intense respiratory symptoms, requiring round the clock hospital care. Caitlin has the added “bonus” of recovery from a C-section at the same time. Making matters more frustrating, neither Caitlin or Josh can hold baby Tripp while they are still fighting off Covid. Tripp, born much earlier than expected, has spent his first week in the NICU and will continue to be there until he is healthy enough to finally go home.
As you can imagine, the medical bills are piling up already and will continue to increase as the family recovers. Josh and Caitlin have enough to deal with while they continue to get better, so I'm spearheading this fundraising effort on behalf of family and friends who want to help. We are hopeful we can raise enough money to off-set the many medical costs not covered by insurance, and any other unforeseen costs resulting from an extended hospital stay. Basically, it’s only thing we can do to help soften the landing when everyone is healthy enough to return home.
