Hello my name is Maya Cunningham and I am a senior nursing student at the University of Maine. Nursing students from the University of Maine and I, will be participating in a 11-day service trip. We will be involved in community health surveys and providing health care support in underprivileged villages in Tanzania. This will be a professional and individual growth experience which will improve the lives of families in Tanzania as well as further nursing student’s understanding of global health. This will be the 11th year that nursing students from the University of Maine/ UMaine Nursing International (UMNI) will be participating in this incredible life/learning experience. We are hoping to continue this trip in years to come for future nursing students. Students who are partaking on this trip are fundraising for the many medical supplies that we will bring with us as well as personal costs. We bring an average of 300 pounds of medical supplies to areas that are in much need of supplies and medications. We are asking for your support.
