Needing Help Thanks to Cancer

While in hospital recently for an unrelated injury, a nodule in my thyroid was discovered and my world came crashing down on the 7th June when I was told that I had cancer.

Since diagnosis I have been undergoing treatment with more to come and while I was recently under worker's compensation this has now stopped as I was cleared for the injury that occurred at work. Unfortunately I had only been in my job for a month so I do not have heaps of annual or sick leave and as I am a single person I am a sole income earner for my household.

I have made enquiries into Centrelink and unfortunately they will not help me, I have lodged a claim with my superannuation fund to access Income Protection however this can be a lengthy process and if approved the payment is made in arrears so will likely have to wait to receive payments.

I have come to a point where I still have medical and living expenses to cover and unfortunately available funds are dwindling to a point where I need help.

I am not one to usually ask people for help as I have always been the one to help others but as I am not allowed to do work of any capacity this is my only other option.

I am not asking for more than what I need to get me by in the time period where I expect I can return work.
