Hi Everyone
I have set up this Go Fund me for my Beautiful Niece's Twins Sasha and Layla to get all the help and Treatment they need.
Sasha was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome when she started delveloping Symptoms and she collapsed, unresponsive and defibrillator on in school December 2024.
2nd April 2025 her twin sister Layla was rushed to hospital ended up spending 10 Days in Cork University high dependency unit she suffered endless Seizures which ment she had to learn use her legs again, she also lost her eyesight for a while which was very distressing.
This has happened Layla a few times this past year
Endless tests and Scans doctors not knowing what to do next.
We as Family never dreamt that both Twins were suffering from the Same condition. Their condition have worsend and spirraled out of control Days turned into week, weeks turned into Months more test more scans more doctors and all this time later the twins are still struggling
Endless Seizures's, Collapsing, Pains, extreme elevated Heart rates 200bpm, heart Pauses and we still have no answers's nothing that is helping them.
Both girls have been through so much Physically and Mentally daily pain, nausea, illness weightloss from the ridiculous amount of medication.
The Twins have not been able to attend school they have missed out on most of Transition year and Fifth year, they have been trying to self-education and keep up with there work but are left feeling isolated from their teachers and classmates, both were refused home tuition and after another fight we managaed to get them a few hours a week, aswell as that they have missed out on so much of there lives hanging out with their Friends , school trips, being the Teenagers they are.
The Twins played GAA, swimming and were learning lifesaving, they tried to carry on supporting for a while but became to hard as the condition worsened.
They have spent more time in hospitals Crumlin, Cork university Hospital and Clonmel and than in their own beds.
Sasha has spent time in Waterford having loop recorder fitted
Both have constant worry of Collapsing, Seizures and worse the unknown, They have suffered other injuries from Collapsing and Seizure's as it happens anywhere burns, scraps ,bruising, head injuries.
Currently Sasha cannot walk unaided due to unprovoked collapses and risk of serious injury she has no independence or control over her own life.
Having one child so sick but two is extremely Difficult, both Parents spending endless, sleepless nights on hospital floors, their Mum Kealey has had to give up work to become their full-time Carer and with the wonderful help of our parents every day is a struggle
We as Family have had to learn so much so quick.
we have been through every senario, both Girls have been on the floor having Seizures at the same time, both in Hospital, one in hospital and one still ill at home it seems to be a never ending circle.
Both have still been refused Medical Card with there endless medication lists and Ambulance call outs ,most recently the Air Ambulance its been a never ending bill.
Despite all this both have remained so strong, positive and determined to fight this, riding all their pain and fear of the unknown
No 17 year old should be going through
The reason we have set up this Fundraiser is because Sasha has just come out of cardiac care where she developed and is still suffering from kidney Damage.
She has been push up the waiting list for Urgent Heart surgery on 20th August hopefully earlier, we are praying that this helps Sasha condition and stops Drop Attacks
Layla is also awaiting this surgery.
Please join us on the 25th of July to Walk for the Girls Let's show them the love and Support they need.
We also want to thank everyone who has helped us in any way, friends family strangers who dont even know the girls but sat on the roads, footpaths for hours helping we appreciated everyone of you.
Thank you ♥️
