On the evening of October 10th, our lives were forever changed when my brother, Chris, was in a severe ATV accident resulting in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). He was swiftly Careflighted to Medical City Plano's Brain and Spine Center where he was placed in a medically induced coma. Fighting multiple cranial and facial fractures along with extensive brain swelling, Chris is currently in a fight for his life.
His family, Cari, Cole aged 11 & Ryker age 7, is coping at life without their father. Unfortunately, the family is extremely limited in contact with Chris due to hospital restrictions during the ongoing pandemic. (only one person per 24 hours can visit)
Chris is a Texas-native who grew up in Garland and Rowlett, TX. After graduating from Lakeview Centennial High School in 1993, Chris began his real estate career as first an inspector (TREC) in the family business and later as a licensed Texas Realtor and Broker. He met his wife in High School who he later married in 2005. They currently live with their two sons and three German Shepherds between Royce City and Union Valley. He's an avid outdoorsmen who enjoys trail riding, hunting, and camping with his family. Cari is an Elementary school teacher for the Rockwall Independent School District at Hamm Elementary.
Funds are needed in the short-term to continue as normal as a life as possible for the Tumey Family as well as a way of easing the burden, long-term, for Chris's care, rehabilitation and an unknown number of future surgeries.
On a personal note, my brother is a very private person and, frankly, would not be a fan of a fundraiser like this. That said, we've had hundreds of people reach out with prayers and requests for how they can help assist the Tumey Family.
I look forward to the day that I can apologize to him for setting this up.
