The Troost Family

If you know Kenny Troost you know that he is the first person to give you the shirt off of his back to help you. He has been there for the highest points of our lives as the best man in our wedding, all the way to the lowest when our daughter was diagnosed with cancer. Kenny and his wife Shanna were the first of our friends to reach out to help us when Avery was diagnosed and now it’s our turn to return the favor.

A month ago Kenny started to lose some peripheral vision in his right eye. After being referred to many doctors he was finally diagnosed with Ciliochoroidal Melanoma, a very rare eye cancer. This type of cancer can spread to the liver and lungs. Luckily the cancer is contained to just the eye. Today (August 29th) Kenny will have to undergo enucleation, the removal of his right eye to prevent the spread of the cancer. Having gone through this with our daughter we know that the medical bills will quickly stack up. To top it off the prosthetic eye he will need after the surgery is NOT covered under insurance at all and is very expensive. We are raising funds to help them during this difficult time so that they do not have to worry about paying any of their medical bills.
