The Triplets Rebuild Their Hope
Donation protected
My name is Sam and I am organizing this fundraiser for my good friends, the Hassouna Family. Here is a message from Hytham...
My family has become refugees and homeless.
We are raising funds to rebuild our life after the crossing opens and we are able to escape.
We will need a lot of support as we have lost everything we had. We are seeking help with housing, medical, and immigration costs until we can get back on our feet.
We are a family of 5 members. Myself, my wife and the Triplets.
I never thought we would be in this nightmare. We had an amazing life before.
This is me, my wife Alaa, and my Triplets
Two boys (Munir and Mahmoud) and a girl (Hana)
they were born on March 22nd, 2023.
We have been displaced more than 5 times after we lost our home. Living in horrible conditions.
We experienced issues with the transfer money to us from Belgium, where our previous gofundme was based. We started this new Fund to get our Goal.
The cost of living here in Gaza is perhaps the highest in the world.
The price of a pack of diapers exceeded $75.
we need one every 36 hours
350g pack of baby formula costs more than $15 dollars
we need one every 24 hours.
Every day we need more than 100$ right now the past 8 months we spent all we get.
We are sad, upset and, sorry.
However, we have seen from friends that made it to Cairo before it closed, that the situation is still very bad there and it is very financially difficult. As refugees you are not able to use public hospitals, finding affordable rents and jobs without citizenship is very hard.
So in this new campaign we aim to raise the funds to help provide our daily living, compensating for what was spent, rebuild our life and preparing ourselves for our next life.
The money from this campaign will go to:
- Providing for our daily needs and the needs of the babies here. ($2500-$3000) per month
- Costs of surgeries for the babies. $15000
- Minimum living costs in Egypt and rent $1500 per month
I know this is starting from scratch to fundraise, but this is the best option we have. Many things change very quickly and unexpectedly.
So hopefully we have a safety net.
If the amount ends up being more than we need, we will use it to help our extended family here.
We are eager to rebuild our lives after so many months of suffering. I am so grateful to anyone who is able to help us. I pray that this suffering will end soon and that my family will be able to leave. We never imagined that we would become refugees like this. All the things we worked for in our lives are gone. We will have to start completely over once we get out. But I'm grateful we've survived so far when many did not make it.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
With sincere appreciation,
The Hassouna Family
