Help Students:Trip of a Lifetime to Costa Rica!

Please help us give 15 of our Kepner Beacon Middle School students the opportunity to experience the Natural Wonders of Costa Rica! Our group is a unique bunch of hard working high performing students in a Southwest Denver school. Each child in our group has been hand selected for this trip. They had to complete an application for our excursion to Costa Rica in addition to having great grades and behavior. Every student was also recommended by their grade level teachers. Each student absolutely loves learning and puts forth great effort on a daily basis for success in our school.
Our school, Kepner Beacon Middle School, emphasizes on the enrichment of our students' lives not just in the classroom but through unique experiences. Our goal as teachers is to ensure that our students broaden their horizons for what the world has to offer.
Most of our students have never traveled outside of the country, let alone Southwest Denver. We want students to know what opportunities are at their disposal outside of their immediate community. We want them to see what other professions and paths are out there that they can explore. We want traveling to Costa Rica and learning about a foreign country to spark their curiosity about the rest of the world. In addition, we want them to recognize the importance of working hard, getting an education, and its ability to take you to new places.
A majority of our students will be first generation high school graduates. We want to provide more than what the four walls of a building can offer, first hand accounts and unforgettable experiences that they will remember for a lifetime. These experiences will hopefully keep them on the path to a higher education. While most of these students are from working families, they are trying hard to raise enough money to go on this trip without causing a financial burden to their parents/guardians. Their full price for Costa Rica is $2565 per student through EF Tours and they are working hard to raise money for their trip.

-Flights to and from Costa Rica
-Participation in environmental sustainability workshops
-Cooking class
-Canopy adventure
-Visit to thermal springs
-Snorkeling activity
-Participation in a cultural exchange with locals
-Visit to Rincón de la Vieja National Park
-Boat tour of Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge
-Visit to La Fortuna Waterfall
-Tour of a coffee plantation
These students are truly incredible. We are so lucky and thankful to have a group from our community that will be able to experience such an amazing educational travel experience! All we hope for is to help get them there, however we can. Thank you in advance for helping us make a difference :)
