Trimm Family Facing Homlessness in Midst of Medical Crisis

We are losing our home and facing the very real possibility of homelessness.

In the middle of a serious medical crisis, our landlord has unexpectedly decided not to renew our lease. We were given just over thirty days’ notice to leave our home. Regardless of the reason, the outcome is the same: we are now racing the clock to secure housing before we are forced out.

This situation is especially dangerous because of my wife’s health.

My wife is currently battling a severe, acute, antibiotic-resistant kidney infection. She is undergoing aggressive treatment, and her condition is fragile. Stability, rest, and reduced stress are medically necessary right now — yet we are suddenly facing displacement, moving logistics, and the fear of having nowhere to go.

The timing could not be worse.

While our lease technically ends on January 31st, the practical deadline is much earlier. To avoid chaos, protect her health, and take advantage of the one day friends are able to help us move (January 18th), we must secure housing by Friday, January 16th, the last business day to finalize a lease. Waiting until the end of the month would likely mean higher costs, fewer options, and far greater physical and emotional strain on her.

To relocate safely and avoid homelessness, we urgently need funds to cover:
• Moving expenses (including professional movers for large and heavy items)
• First and last month’s rent on a stable, pet-friendly home
• Basic relocation costs directly tied to her medical needs

At this point, the minimum needed to stabilize our situation is $5,000–$6,000, with total relocation costs potentially reaching $6,000–$8,000, depending on housing availability.

This is not about convenience. It is about keeping a seriously ill woman safe, housed, and medically stable during a dangerous period — and keeping our family, including our three small dogs to whom she is deeply attached, together.

Thank you to everyone who has already supported us, shared this page, or checked in. Your help has meant more than words can express. If you are able to help again or share this update, it truly makes a difference right now.

With deep gratitude,
James
