Many may or may not know that Trevor has recently been diagnosed with Tongue Cancer. Whilst the tumour has been identified early, the procedure is significant and the rehabilitation arduous.
Trevor's procedure includes' removing the tumour and surrounding tissue from his tongue, a graft to his tongue from his wrist, then a graft from his leg to his wrist. Apparently, the wrist graft is more suitable for the Tongue. During the procedure, Trevor will also have his Lymph nodes/glands removed as a precaution, which involves an incision from his ear to his neck.
Once the surgery is completed, a Tracheotomy (hole in his throat) will be performed to allow Trevor to breathe and an additional tube for feeding. Trevor will remain in the hospital for 3 to 4 weeks.
Upon release, Trevor will undergo a period of extensive Chemotherapy/Radiation followed by intensive Speech Therapy so he can learn how to speak again.
As you can appreciate, there will be a tremendous amount of 'out-of-pocket' expenses, so the family immensely appreciates whatever support you can afford.
Trevor is somewhat embarrassed and certainly humbled by the support and effort being undertaken; however, as you all know, he would be the first in line to assist any of us should the shoe be on the other foot.
Please dig deep, and support Trevor if you're able...
