The tragic adventure of Kylee and the Knee

Donation protected
As a Junior in High School, Kylee was your typical outgoing, energetic and hopeful young woman. She was on the high school swim team. She had a great job and was working to save up for college where she wants to study Graphic Design.

Her plans were disrupted when Kylee was in a traumatic sledding accident in January 2021. She shattered her ankle, broke her knee, and tore three of four ligaments in her knee. Since then, she has had three surgeries on her knee, and countless physical therapy sessions. Unfortunately, she continues to have extreme swelling and pain.

Her injuries have prevented her from being involved in activities she loves during her senior year of high school. She again wont be able to compete on the swim team for her last year of school. She hoped to save money for college but was only able to work limited hours because of how much pain she has when standing and moving around.

Her pain has increased to the point that she recently had to quit her job. In October, she got a second opinion from an orthopedic doctor at Primary Children’s Medical Center. After an MRI, it was determined that her knee has not healed properly, and she “will need to start over with a complete knee reconstruction.” Multiple surgeries will be needed to repair her ligaments, and she will need to start over with her extensive physical therapy.

She is feeling like this injury has dampened her excitement for the future. She is gearing up for college next year and hasn't been able to save the money she was hoping. I'd like to help her and her family face these medical bills that keep coming, especially now that she will be going through the whole process a second time around.

It isn't just about the money for Kylee's surgeries, I want to help her feel like getting a college education is still within reach even though she hasn't been able to save like she had planned. Each donation is just a sprinkle of hope for her future.

Other ways to help Kylee:
  • notes of encouragement
  • scholarship resources
  • graphic design resources
  • physical therapy encouragement

Healing from an accident like this takes a tremendous amount of support, love and encouragement. I personally know how incredible the whole Reese family is and I'm excited to see the community of all of those that love them like I do, come together to support this incredible journey of hope.
