Thank you for taking the time to read this. This is a collaboration from the Mosley family.
Meet Malcolm, an energetic, hard-working, loving young man whose life has just begun.
On 12/22/2022, Malcolm was involved in a job accident. He fell from a 30 plus feet platform of an open structure, sustaining multiple injuries. He was quickly taken to a nearby hospital, Erlanger hospital, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. His family received the horrific news that Malcolm suffered a broken C4 vertebrae, a spine injury that was putting pressure and pinching his spinal cord. He has several fractures in his left leg and a fracture in his right wrist. The time was ticking to relieve the pressure on his spinal cord. He did well on day 1. They fused the C3, C4, C5, and C6 vertebrae. He went for his second surgery on Christmas eve to repair the tibia in his leg; thankfully, everything went smoothly. Currently, He is awake but remains intubated on a ventilator. He is waiting on a third surgery to remove the feeding tube from his nose to be replaced in his stomach area. Malcolm also has a Tracheostomy. He still has no movement below his neck down to his feet. For a 29-year-old, very active man who loves life and spending time with his family, this is a life-changing event. At this time, it is unclear what functionality he will regain and what he will be able to do. He will need the best aggressive rehabilitation to give him the best chance at recovery. Malcolm coded on Wednesday, but through prayers, he was revived. He will also need to be transferred back home to Atlanta, Georgia.
His mother (Tascha), who recently started a transportation business, has to put that on hold to travel back and forth from Atlanta to Chatanooga to care for her son. This tragedy is hard on any parent, and the last thing she needs to worry about is how her bills will be paid and how her son will get the best recovery he needs, all while she cares for him in hopes of bringing him home.
He has an extremely long road ahead of him, and the family would be ever grateful for even the smallest contribution to this journey.
We will be sure to keep everyone updated on his progress. Please keep Malcolm, and the Mosley family uplifted in prayer if nothing else.
