Help Us Save Tootsie Before It’s Too Late

Tootsie is out of time. She’s sick, and the shelter has no choice but to make space. Any day now, she will be euthanized simply because she’s ill. We know that with urgent medical care, she can recover—but we can’t do it without your help.

Tootsie’s illness started as an upper respiratory infection but has worsened. She’s vomiting in her kennel, coughing, and showing signs that it may have turned into pneumonia. This means her recovery will be costly, potentially requiring hospitalization. We are prepared—we have the infrastructure, the fosters, and the experience to help her—but we need the funding to make it happen.

Who We Are & Why We Need Your Support

Foster Tales is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity that survives solely on donations. We carefully project the funding needed based on each dog’s condition, and in Tootsie’s case, we anticipate significant medical costs—not just for her current infection, but for everything that comes with responsible rescue care.

• Medical Treatment & Potential Hospitalization – We need to cover diagnostics, treatment, and possible hospitalization to ensure she recovers fully.

• Rescue Operating Costs – Every dog we take in adds to our general expenses, and in Tootsie’s case, these costs will be higher because of the time it typically takes to find homes for pittie mixes. On average, a pittie mix is with us for six months to a year before adoption.

• Spay Surgery & Routine Care – Before adoption, Tootsie will need to be spayed, vaccinated, and fully vetted.

We believe in the power of crowdfunding—many people giving small amounts to create big change. Even $5 or $10 can help save Tootsie. If we all come together, we can not only save her life but give her the future she deserves.

If funds exceed Tootsie’s needs, they will be used to help other dogs in similar urgent situations—just as we’ve done in past fundraisers.
