The Toni Ringlein Cancer Recovery Fund

My name is Angel and I am creating this fundraiser for my mother.

She is a fighter but cancer and chemo are wearing her down.

She is half way through the 18 treatments for breast cancer.

She has HERS 2 positive breast cancer, the most aggressive kind.

She is receiving low dose chemo going weekly versus every 3 weeks.

She has completed 9 of 18 scheduled chemo treatments so far including

4 chemo drugs every 3rd week (Herceptin, Perjeta, Carboplatin, Taxol),

only 2 drugs the other weeks (Carbolplatin and perjeta)

Side effects are: hair loss, bowel issues, fatigue, brain fog and neuropathy in her hands and feet with a vibration feeling throughout her body.

The last 2 weeks were very tough on her making it difficult to walk and be Neoropothy currently is setting in hard and it's becoming increasingly hard for her to get around, stand or tend to certain things, including WORK. So we need all the help we can get to cover the lack of that alone.

Once treatment is complete, assessments will be done to determine the next step which they say is surgery for a mastectomy.

She has two medical oncologists. One is her alternative oncologist in Carlsbad. He does not accept insurance so he can provide alternative treatments without interference from the govt and insurance companies OUT OF POCKET. He is the one that convinced her that she had to do chemo and recommended the low-dose regiman. He could do the chemo but it wouldn't be covered under insurance, hence why she is under the care of an additional traditional medical oncologist locally to administer that.

She gets blood work done weekly and both oncologists review it to ensure her blood counts are good and her nutritional values are where they need to be.

She is on tons of supplements to eliminate the poison from her body and minimize the toxicity plus provide much-needed gut and nutritional support OUT OF POCKET.

So far her blood counts are good but her nutritional absorption is weak, so more supplements were added to combat this. All of this means more OUT OF POCKET expenses and LESS ABILITY TO WORK, that just doesn't add up. It's not a luxury but a necessity to keep the foods, supplements and care needed available to her so she can have the continued strength to fight! We appreciate the support thus far and she is in good spirits. Reaching this goal would provide aid and relief which will allow for a greater healing opportunity through the release of stress and burden.
