The Tommy Manley Cancer Fund

Our father, Tommy Manley, has recently been diagnosed with life-threatening stage four lung cancer. We are asking for help in supporting Tommy and Pam through these hardships with financial aid aimed towards the medical cost, day-to-day expenses, and ultimately one less mountain standing in the way of recovery.

THE STORY:

On Tuesday, February 14 Tommy was taken to the ER with concerns about having had a stroke. A CT scan revealed the cause of concern to be a large mass on the left side of his brain, While further exploration showed multiple masses throughout his brain. Continued testing determined the official diagnosis, stage four small cell lung cancer which originated in his left lung and has spread throughout his body.

Dad has persisted through ten rounds of whole brain radiation treatments with high hopes of success. Treatments to come, starting March 20th, include rounds of chemotherapy and immunotherapy which have proven success rates.

Concerning symptoms, which were easily dismissible at the time, presented themselves only a few weeks before the diagnosis. This unexpected news hit hard and hit quickly, leaving everyone to face new realities. Pam is retired and Tommy was working full time, and unfortunately, his income has come to an end. Tommy has applied for Social Security Disability benefits, however, the first payment, if acceptance is granted, may not be until January 2024. Along with the everyday living expenses, Tommy and Pam now face a $7500 out-of-pocket insurance cost.

Dad is a loving husband, father, and son and a soon-to-be grandfather of two, twin boys, with much to live for. Your donation will help ease one of the biggest burdens of this fight, God bless you all.
