The Tokens is podcast that will have weekly intimate, fun, and insightful conversation into the world of entertainers that were the only person of color on their respective projects. We will talk to people on camera and behind the scenes including actors, writers, and crew members. We will discuss their experiences and the positive and negative impacts it had on them, then and now. It will be an empowering and eye opening dialogue hosted by Giovonnie Samuels who herself was a token several times in her career and has found a way to embrace her experience and use it as a way champion others.

Hosted by Giovonnie Samuels is an actress, producer and write has a TV and Film career spanning over 20 plus years. She broke onto the acting scene as a series regular on Nickelodeon’s “All That”, after leaving Giovonnie had several guest star roles on tv shows. Giovonnie eventually moved from children’s television and into films. She landed the role of Kirresha in “Bring It On: All Or Nothing” then quickly followed this up with her breakout dramatic performance in the critically acclaimed film “Freedom Writers” . Giovonnie continued to appear in several films and tv shows throughout the years, and recently used her passion for the industry to help others. Giovonnie continues to work hard to be a positive representation for young girls who look like her, and is making sure to create her own content that will tell stories that inspire and uplift people
