The Tim Grant Project

Donation protected

We’ve reached our goal and we are ecstatic. We are extremely grateful to everyone who has donated and now we are ready to put the finishing touches on the project.

It’s been a labor of love and here’s a recap on how all your donations have been used.

My name is Claudia, and Tim Grant was my brother. Tim was a beloved singer songwriter, teacher and pastor in Northern New York who suddenly passed away in 2001. In the years since we have discovered recordings of his unfinished music and a small group of people who knew and loved Tim have come together to finish his music and bring it to everyone else who knew and loved him. Their budget is $15,000 and I would like to raise this, through GoFundMe in order to cover the costs associated. What will the donations go towards: Hiring Nashville and Los Angeles Session Musicians We will have hired 5 to 6 professional musicians to add Piano, Wurlitzer, Hammond B3 Organ, String Quartet, Bass Guitar, Guitars, Mandolins, Bouzouki’s, Background vocals etc. Studio Time Each time a musician records, it happens in a studio facility that also needs to be paid for. This includes use of the facility and any engineers hired to run the session. Editing & Mixing Once the tracks have been recorded, everything needs to be edited by hand and then mixed together. This will require hiring an editor and mix engineer. Mastering All of the tracks (6 in total) once fully mixed will then be sent to a mastering engineer for the final stage of production. Additionally, Tim’s previous two records will be digitally re-mastered. Artwork An artist will be hired to create cover art for Tim’s final EP The Grand Finale!! Tim’s new EP and his two earlier records will be released to all streaming services and made available to everyone who loved his music. This will allow his music to be archived forever. As the organizer, I will be using these funds to directly pay each musician, engineer, studio facility and artist for their time. The beneficiaries are not only Tim, who we know would love that we are doing this for him, but also anyone else who ever loved his music.

We realize many of you already know and love Tim, but for those who don't, let us tell you about this amazingly talented man. Watch the video below.

Tim was passionate about music. After college, he had a successful career playing with many of Northern New York's hottest bands, including Kiss (Bob Kissell), Moon Dance, Angel, and High Life. He also performed solo for many years. His success continued after relocating to Phoenix, Arizona.

Despite his accomplishments in music, Tim felt a need for more in life. What was missing? How could he lead a more fulfilling life? His questions and contemplation led him to the Lord. Tim found his calling. He was still passionate about music, and he turned that passion to writing Christian music—beautiful lyrics and music to express his love of life, family, friends, fellow humans, and the Lord.

Tim performed and produced the music for three successful albums of his original Christian songs. As Sean mentioned in his video above, Tim was working on several pieces for a fourth album when he suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. He had planned to record the album in the Christian music capital, Nashville, Tennessee.

The Tim Grant Project (TGP) is a labor of love to bring Tim's unfinished music to life. TGP is led by a team of Tim's family, students, and fellow musicians. You will be hearing from each of them as we progress through our fundraising efforts.

There is always a cost associated with recording music. We estimate the costs for professionally producing, recording, mixing and mastering Tim's unfinished music to be approximately $15,000. We also plan to remaster his first two albums. This amount is substantially reduced because of our Nashville and LA connections.

If you would like to help us bring Tim's beautiful and moving music library to the world, ensuring it is widely available through download and streaming platforms for generations to come, please consider donating to the Tim Grant Project. Any amount will help.
