Who are we?
Poor Life Choices Productions is a Toronto-based theatre company, made up of two sisters: Anna and Juliet Mehler Paperny. With a shared love for the performing arts, raised on the Bard and inappropriate humour, Anna and Juliet made their way from the shores of Vancouver to the mean streets of Toronto. Both Anna, a journalist, and Juliet, a media producer, work hard to employ their passions in their day jobs. But life's complex. And sometimes you make poor life choices.
With the acceptance of The Ties that Bind and Gag into the 2018 Toronto Fringe Festival, Poor Life Choices Productions was given life and an ill-advised extra-curricular creative journey began.
What are we doing?
PLC Productions will be putting on seven productions of an original play - The Ties that Bind and Gag - this July, and need your support to make this dream a reality!
The Ties that Bind and Gag is a 60-minute dark comedy in which:
Three generations of a tight-knit family cram into a rental car to drive to a funeral. Neuroses collide, emotions run high, grievances are aired and over-shared, traffic laws are broken. You could have called.
Where's your money going?
By supporting The Ties that Bind and Gag you will be backing the arts workers involved in this production, who dedicate their lives to the performing arts and spend hours each week bringing innovative, powerful stories to audiences all over the Toronto region.
What do we need?
We need to raise $6000 to help cover the cost of:
Festival fees
Rehearsal space
Performer Fees
Crew
Props & Costumes
Tech
Marketing
Toronto's vibrant arts scene is the lifeblood of this city and it depends on the generosity of patrons to thrive. We would be honoured if you would help us make The Ties that Bind and Gag a reality. We promise it'll be quite the ride.
