Please help support the Thorns Family as they continue to focus on Steve's recovery.......
Steve's story began on June 15th, 2020, when Steve, age 44, was diagnosed with colorectal cancer categorized as Stage 3B. His treatment included five days of intense radiation, followed by nine rounds of chemotherapy, surgery to remove the tumor and lymph nodes, and then one more final surgery. At one year from diagnosis, his pet scans showed no signs of cancer and the feeling of some relief followed.
Steve returned to light duty as a Sac Metro Fire Fighter on June 16, 2021, and then on August 29th, his dream came true, and he returned to regular duty with his fire family. It was just a few days later, on Thursday, September 2nd, Steve suffered a stroke. Steve will need occupational therapy, physical therapy and most of all speech therapy.
Steve is an amazing husband and father. His kids are scared and have been through so much. BUT, Steve is a fighter, and kicked cancers butt, so he will get through this with his amazing support system and with your financial help too.
The funds collected will be used for the many home costs incurred during his recovery and help his wife Crystal, and his two children, Stephen and Gracie. Steve and Crystal deeply appreciate your support for their family during this difficult time. Above all, they ask for your prayers for Steve. Thank you.
