The technology goes off — or the show won’t go on!

The young people from Shazam Junior Youth Theatre are taking on a challenge that will push them well outside their comfort zones.
They are completing a 12-hour sponsored “no technology” challenge on the 28th February — no phones, no screens, and no electrical devices of any kind. Locked in a room together, they must get through the experience using creativity, teamwork, and resilience alone. For young people growing up in a digital world, this is no small feat.
They are doing this to raise funds to enable them to perform their National Theatre Connections piece at Robert Gordon College on 14th March.
Shazam Drama is proudly inclusive, welcoming young people of all abilities and backgrounds. Inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do — but it also means that we do not ask families to cover costs that simply aren’t affordable for everyone. Instead, we expect our young people to raise the funds themselves. And in this case without this fundraising, the show won’t go on.
Every donation will go directly toward covering the costs associated with the performance and ensuring that every young person can take part, regardless of financial circumstances.
- By supporting this fundraiser, you are helping young people to:
- Build confidence and self-belief
- Develop creativity and teamwork
- Experience a true sense of belonging
- Access opportunities they might otherwise never have
These young people are giving up their screens for 12 hours — please consider supporting them and helping make sure they get their moment on stage.
Thank you so much for your support
