The Tate Rusbridge Anstey Appeal

On Christmas Day 2018, this gorgeous bundle of  scrumminess  had a magical, fun filled day, knee deep in wrapping paper, surrounded by family and friends. On Boxing Day evening, Tate,  was blue lighted to  Southampton hospital for emergency surgery the following morning on an aggressive brain tumour. With another full day of surgery the following day and further surgery planned if he is up to it. We are all hoping and praying the surgery is successful but he still faces lengthy chemotherapy treatment. 

This is a long haul battle for Tate, age 5,  but also for his family, Zoe, Karen and sister Nell. Many of you know Zoe and Karen well. Both Zoe and Karen have dedicated many years working with some of the most disabled and challenging young people in Brighton and Hove.  Giving them opportunities they would never normally have had chance to experience  without intensive support, a can do attitude and love for what they do. 

Karen and Zoe now face their biggest challenge. Please can we, as a community of families with disabled children and young people in Brighton and Hove and everyone who knows and loves this family,  step up to help them as they have helped us. 

Zoe was due to start a new job on 2nd Jan. Ordinarily,  Karen works too but understandably neither will be working for the foreseeable future. The bills will keep on coming but they are also facing additional costs as a result of this devastating diagnosis and life changing event. 

We cannot change what is happening to Tate but we can make life that bit easier for Karen, Zoe and Nell. We can take some of the financial stress and worry away. We can help them be together as a family and be by Tate’s side giving him strength and love to see him through this.
